AIMS Academy Curriculum

Aims Academy is pivoted around curriculum, which is in the forefront of working with parents, families, referrers and the community in order to gain an holistic development of its pupils.  The culture of the educational environment is based on the recognition of the wholistic participation and team effort. Consequently, community is developed to ensure individuals are treated with respect, care, and safety. It creates higher standards and the adoption positive attitudes towards studies. Resulting, we believe in an increase in care, hope, empathy, and compassion in each pupil, which we further believe is the key.

The curriculum at Aims Academy is individual-oriented and dynamic so that once pupils have learnt the necessary abilities the school works to extend the horizon of the pupils’ potential by laying down the groundwork for the development of a family and community mindset.

The application of this approach assures the atmosphere is one where pupils can flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

AIMS Academy: Careers Advice

Every young individual is entitled to quality career guidance to pave the way for their success after school. At AIMS Academy, we are devoted to ensuring that our students have access to career advice throughout their educational journey. An impartial careers adviser at our academy offers comprehensive support, including:

  • Assistance with crafting Curriculum Vitaes (CVs)
  • Helping forge connections with companies for fruitful interviews
  • Aid with college application processes
  • Interview preparation
  • Training for independent commuting
  • Opportunities for work experience

Specifically, students in Key Stage 4 have the chance to participate in work experience programs. This offers them practical exposure to the working world, allowing them to explore potential employment sectors first-hand.

AIMS Academy: RSE

Pupils today need relationship and sex education so that they can make balanced choices for the different types of associations that they are going to have, not only romantic associations. It will be their ability to be aware of what a healthy relationship is, qualities of good friends, co-workers, and successful marriage or any other form of committed relationships.

They should also touch upon contraception etc. as well as how to develop intimate relationships and avoid having sex (and also avoiding applying pressure to have sex). It needs to guide in what falls on the side of right and wrong in a relationship. Through that they will be in a position to find out what good relationships do to them mentally, and how to tell when those relationships are not right and how to sort out such issues.

Health Education informs pupils about physical health and mental wellness (the two are closely related) in an attempt to teach them all the information that they need to make right decisions for their health and wellbeing on their own. It should prepare them to point out the normal and issues in themselves and others and also know to seek timely support from the best sources whenever issues arise.
